Participants, Advertisers and Media

Downloads for participants

If you wish to participate in the West End Festival 2008, you can download a letter that is sent to all potential participants, containing additional details. You can also download this year's application form.

Opening Parade

We need groups and individuals with costumes to take part in the parade on June 15 2008. Noel Bridgeman is in charge of the costume groups. Call Noel Bridgeman on 07801 848545

We don’t accept floats/ lorries, so people have to be able to walk from the Botanic Gardens to Kelvingrove Park.

Stalls

We will again have craft and other stalls. Cost per stall £60 plus VAT to include a decent table. Please email or write to register your interest.

Food and Drink

Priority is given to existing traders in and around Byres Road, but you can apply for a stance at this stage via email or in writing. After discussions (which we are yet to have) with the authorities at the Council, we will be able to say what kind of food and drink will be eligible. A tariff for stances will be published once we know what is going on.

Live Music

There will be at least four stages in Byres Road with PAs, and a further four smaller platform stages which may not all have PAs. We hope to have a stage at the Art Galleries and one in Kelvingrove Park, but these to be confirmed.

Applications for 40 minute slots by email or letter with CDs or tapes, please. Small fees are paid to successful bands and musicians. Decisions by May 11. Sorry, no under 18s.

Other Entertainment

We welcome any approaches from face painters, puppet shows, children’s entertainers, etc, for West End Festival events across the two weeks. Please apply in writing.

Adverts

We will accept adverts for the brochure. Please contact the WEF office for rates and availability. WEF sponsors have priority.
