Off to another busy start this weekend and we’ve picked out a host of highlight events covering folk music, fashion, dance and community – there really is something for everyone!
- F.O.R.K. Gala
Bring a rug, your friends and family and enjoy a day by Glasgow’s second river, the Kelvin. Take a canoe ride, listen to live music and help the Friends of the River Kelvin (FORK) keep up their good work. Running all day from 11am, there will be a bar, stalls, food and a puppet show – ample entertainment for an afternoon down by the Ha’penny Bridge House (lower Kelvin walkway).
- Cardonald College Fashion Show – Assemblage!
After some summer fashion inspiration? This is your chance to witness a spectacular showcase of final year fashion garments designed and produced by Students on the HND Fashion Design, Fashion Textiles and HND Jewellery courses. Further work from their partner ARCH Academy of Design in Jaipur will also be on display!

- Flamenco Fusion
Let yourself be transported to Spain with this magical night boasting a colourful variety of dance and music, from Flamenco to Opera. Featuring exciting choreography and powerful dance performances from Dance With Attitude’s Flamenco dancers and guests, and stunning guitar from Andrew Robinson. You won’t find an atmosphere like this anywhere in Glasgow! Followed by a salsa sabrosa party for all and delicious tapas all evening.

- The Nimmo Brothers
After 17 years of working together, and with both Stevie and Alan currently enjoying successful solo projects, you might think the best days of the Nimmo Brothers as a band were in the past – but you’d be very much mistaken! The bluesy Glasgow brothers are very much back in business. In fact, as the boys point out, they never really went away. 7pm, Oran Mor

Today’s picks for the festival - live music, philosophical musings and something for both the kids and the adults alike – Punch and Judy are back!
- Live at the Kelvingrove Bowl
A new music performance location next to An Clachan cafe in Kelvingrove Park - their aim is to promote music in unusual places. Featuring Warren McIntyre and the Starry Skies from The Mecca Holding Co record label – don’t miss you chance to experience this unique venue! The event will also feature the Starlets, Stevie Jackso , the Parsonage choir and other special guests.

- Sunday Afternoon Philosophy Cafe
The place where everyone can philosophise, debate, think and engage in general banter! Robyn Marsack, director of the Scottish Poetry Library will stimulate thinking on poetry in ‘News that Stays: Poetry in our Lives’.

- Punch and Judy in the Botanics
It’s Mr Punch’s 350th birthday this year - so come along and help him celebrate! First seen as a glove puppet in Covent Garden in 1662, Mr Punch will now be seen at our very own Botanic Gardens or in the Kibble Palace if it rains!
