There’s too much to choose from this Saturday – a taste of culture with Japanese Matsuri, a cruise on the canal, cabaret and folk music! The list is endless!

    • James Grant

Widely regarded as one of the finest songwriters and performers around - Love and Money front man James Grant plays material from all his critically acclaimed solo albums, and a smattering of old favourites in this full band show.  7pm, Oran Mor

    • Canal Cruise

Join canal historian and writer Guthrie Hutton and work your passage from Spiers Wharf to Maryhill (and back!) aboard ‘Voyager’.  This is your chance to explore some of Glasgow’s canal side industrial archaeology, on a trip that requires no actual walking!  2pm, Spiers Wharf

    • Japanese Matsuri

Now in its 12th year, Japanese Matsuri lets you experience Japanese culture.  Visitors can put on kimono, write their names in the Japanese alphabet, fold origami and sample sweets.  You can also listen to Japanese taiko drumming and songs from 2.30pm.  All donations are passed on to the northern Japanese villages for tsunami reconstruction work.  1-3pm, Wellington Church

    • Kelvin 5k Fun Run

Raising money for Yorkhill’s Radio Lollipop, the annual 5k Fun Run is a superb community event for all the family and welcomes runners and walkers of all abilities.  Goodie bags and a free BBQ will be available for all those who complete the scenic loop of Kelvingrove Park.  12noon, Kelvingrove Park

    • Cabaret Night at La Bodega

The ever popular ‘Dance With Attitude’ cabaret nights are not to be missed with the classic show Chicago as the theme this year.  Get ready for a fantastic  night of music and dance with guest singers and dramatic performances from the DWA dancers.  A great excuse for you to pick a character from the show and dress up!  Followed by an after show party for all and delicious tapas all night.  7pm, La Bodega, 1120 South Street

Sunday 17th June

One of the festival highlights today – the Gibson Street Gala is always a favourite!  Along with some comedy, classical music and a visit from one of Scotland’s best loved cartoon characters – we’ve got the whole day covered!

    • Lobey Dosser Day

Join in the fun as we celebrate one of Bud Neill’s famous characters, Lobey Dosser, the Sheriff of Calton Creek and his enemy Rank Baiin.  The day is filled with story-telling from Jimmie Macgregor and Jim King.  A festival Highlight! 1pm and 3pm, Dram

    • RSNO Chamber Series

The RSNO chamber series continues with this afternoon concert from the Italian Baroque including Corelli’s Christmas Concerto, Vivaldi’s La Stravaganza and Germiniani’s Concerto Grosso La Folia.  2.30pm, St Mary’s Cathedral

    • Absolute Improv

Fast-paced hilarious improvised comedy, this talented group of international improvisers instantly turn audience suggestions into unique sketches.  Come along and try and contain your laughter!  8pm, Oran Mor
