Highlight events this evening! (Friday, 22 June)

Friday June 22, 2012

Friday 22nd June

    • Daimh

Daimh embody the dynamic richness not only of Scotland’s Highland and Hebridean traditions, but their North American diaspora, featuring a Cape Breton piper, a Californian fiddler alongside the Scots.  Thrillingly fiery instrumental sets alternate with delicately arranged hauntingly delivered ballads.  8pm, Cottiers

    • Rose Room

Formed in the summer 2010, Rose Room comprises virtuoso violinist Seonaid Aitken and Jimmy Moon on double bass with guitarists Tom Watson and Tam Gallagher completing the line up on solo and rhythm guitars.  The music embraces many of the songs of the swing jazz era with a dash of Western Swig thrown in for good measure.  7pm, Oran Mor

    • Cargo Hold Comedy

A boredom slaying line up of some of Gasgow’s finest comedians, rounded up to play aboard Glasgow’s historic ship.  If you’ve always been meaning to visit The Tall Ship and haven’t quite made it along yet, this is the perfect opportunity to take a peek at what lies beneath.  A bar has been set up in the Cargo Hold (below sea level!) especially for the occasion, so you can enjoy a cheeky tipple as you soak up some top-botch comedy.  8pm, The Tall Ship
