WHEN: SATURDAY, 22 JUNE AT 3PM
WHERE: KELVINGROVE ART GALLERY STEPS
World’s largest music event comes to West End Festival – Just what the doctor ordered!
WHAT: You are invited to take pictures of “Dr. Poembak”, a collection of around 20 musicians, at 3pm on Saturday 22 June. We can use the steps at Kelvingrove to take a representative shot of this unusual band in an iconic west end location.
The band will play at the West End Festival on Saturday 22 June in three west end locations, as part of La Fête de la Musique. They dress as doctors and nurses – see video links below for a flavour!
The Poembak Collective brings together 20 musicians of diverse backgrounds – some professional and some amateur. This likeable brass band condenses all the elements of fantasy, burlesque and festivity that tickle our toes, warm up our ears and put us up in the air as soon as the music starts! An eclectic repertoire of world music including jazz, tango, gypsy and Latino. Presented by the Alliance Francaise and WBI.
About La Fête de la Musique:

Celebrated in over 110 countries around the world, it is now the world’s largest music event.
